The fair in the week

The ADAA Fair at the Armory

The Art Dealers Association of America’s fair returns to the Park Avenue Armory under a new name. The ADAA Fair succeeds The Art Show, which the association founded in 1989 and held at the Armory for more than three decades; the 2025 edition did not take place. The 2026 fair moves from The Art Show’s recent late-October slot into mid-November, inside Art Week NYC, and the two announced a cross-promotion.

All exhibitors are ADAA members, which is what has always set the fair apart: about 200 member galleries in nearly 40 U.S. cities, and booths that tend toward focused presentations of historical and contemporary work rather than a general inventory. The association’s July release put the 2026 exhibitor count at 63. The Preview Gala benefits the Whitney Museum of American Art’s education and artistic programs.

The week before

Salon Art + Design

The Armory’s other November fair comes first. Salon Art + Design, for collectible design and art, runs November 4 to 8, 2026, at the Park Avenue Armory. It closes three days before Art Week NYC opens, so a visitor arriving early can see both fairs in the same building. Its previews are by invitation; public hours are on the fair’s site.

After the week

The November Evening Sales

The marquee sales follow Art Week, as they do each November. Viewings are free and open to the public, which makes the salerooms some of the best temporary exhibitions in the city in the days before each sale.

The Other Fair Seasons

New York’s two other fair seasons are not part of this week. The Armory Show, at the Javits Center (not the Park Avenue Armory), took place in September. Frieze New York, TEFAF New York, Independent and NADA New York hold the city’s spring season in May, the week often called “New York Art Week.” See Which Art Week?
