The fair in 2026

Fifth Year, New Director

Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais for its fifth edition with 211 exhibitors from 41 countries and territories, and with a new director. Karim Crippa, who has worked for Art Basel since 2018 and ran communications for the Paris fair, leads it for the first time.

The fair has three sectors. Galeries has 183 galleries, Emergence has 16 solo presentations and Premise has 12 historically focused projects, which move this year into a larger room, the Salon Seine. Nearly 30 galleries are new to the fair, six moved up from Emergence to the main sector, and more than 60 of the exhibitors have a space in France. A record 12 joint booths put two galleries on one stand.

“A fair whose closest interlocutors are the galleries, institutions, collectors, artists, and creative communities of Paris itself.”

The pitch is local, and so is the market case. The announcement puts French art sales at USD 4.5 billion in 2025, up 9% on the year, and gives France 8% of the global market. Those are the Art Basel and UBS report’s numbers, quoted by the fair. The fair drew more than 73,000 visitors last year, according to ArteFuse.

Why this week

A Week With Many Doors

Paris Art Week is a loose name for the fairs, museum openings and public projects that gather around the main fair in October. The Grand Palais fair has anchored it since 2022. Before that, the week was built around FIAC, which began in 1974.

Three things set it apart from a single-venue week. The fairs sit in very different parts of the city: the Grand Palais on the Champs-Élysées side, Asia Now at the Monnaie de Paris on the Left Bank, Paris Internationale on the Quai de Valmy, Design Miami.Paris in a hôtel particulier on the Rue de l’Université. The free outdoor program is spread across nine sites. And the institutions, from the Petit Palais to the Cité de l’Architecture, take part directly rather than programming around the fair.

What Has Been Said So Far

The fair has published its exhibitors and a full press dossier, the satellites have posted their dates, and the press has had its say. Each card below opens a page that reads one part of it closely.

About My Wallet

Keep the Week in One Place

My Wallet holds tickets, registrations and invitations for the fairs in one list, with times and venues. The button at the top of this page saves the Art Basel Paris public days to it; you can edit the dates after saving. It is a free feature of My Biennale and does not buy tickets for you. Tickets are sold by the fairs.

From the shop
